François Quenouille, BSB’90: Alchemy at all costs

Graduated from BSB in 1990, François Quenouille now heads RSCONSULTANTS, an independent firm that’s shaking up traditional training methods. With a mix of humor, on-the-ground expertise, and exceptional mentors, he champions a human, concrete, and committed approach to training and coaching.

“I don’t sell slides, I sell impact.” The tone is set from the start. At RSCONSULTANTS, the firm he took over in 2022 after a career in the automotive industry and then in training, François promotes a direct, tailor-made, and no-nonsense approach.

A powerful triptych

Training, coaching, and mentoring are the three pillars of the business. All of it rooted in a strong belief: training is only useful if it leads to action. “People often feel satisfied after a training session. But what really matters is what they’ve retained and what they’ll want to put into practice. That’s why post-training support is essential.”

François also works with a network of mentors—personalities from the world of sports or civil society (such as former RAID chief physician Matthieu Langlois or former international rugby player Marc Lièvremont)—who have developed strong expertise in areas closely linked to the business world: leadership, stress management, assertiveness. These encounters are deeply enriching and followed by hands-on workshops.

A distinctive approach: offbeat and expert

Far from standardized programs, RSCONSULTANTS embraces experiential and emotional learning. Mentalism, immersive pedagogy, biohacking (energy management)—the goal is clear: grab attention to spark emotion and reaction. “A training session where people get bored is a failure. The brain remembers what surprises and moves it.”

François cultivates this offbeat positioning on LinkedIn as well, where he posts regularly and with a lot of humor: “I’m my own community manager. I insist on it because I want to keep a human voice.”

A deeply human vision of training

While artificial intelligence is creeping into every corner of the training world, François Quenouille remains clear-headed: yes, tech tools can enrich pedagogy, but no, they should not replace the human element. “Training is about connection, experience, and collective intelligence. What a trainer or coach can transmit with their guts, an AI will never replicate.”

A formula sums up his philosophy well: A = (D+H) x T, in other words, Alchemy = (Dopamine + Human) x Time. A mantra he applies to every mission, with a clear goal: to spark lasting breakthroughs.
