Aurore Bardey has been a teacher-researcher for some fifteen years. "After a long stay in the UK, I wanted to return to the European Union. The orientation of the MSc Luxury Management & Innovation corresponded to my sphere of competence. And BSB's values convinced me to move to Dijon in January 2021".

Stéphanie Sire graduated from the school in 2002 and spent the early part of her career working for media agencies. She has been teaching at the school since 2014 and has been involved with MSc students since its creation in 2019. "Being able to share intense work sessions with exciting students and take them where they want to go, and sometimes where they wouldn't have imagined, is a great adventure".

  • What makes the MSc different?

Aurore Bardey: "What I like here is that luxury is approached from a very broad spectrum. For example, we look at consumer psychology. Or sustainability issues. Not to mention, of course, the reality of the international dimension, supported by teachers and students alike."

Stéphanie Sire: "Luxury is seen as a professional field. For example, every year we carry out a real-life consulting assignment with our students. We place them as much as possible in a context of challenge and action. They have to understand, make decisions and draw up recommendations.

  • What is the vocation and philosophy of the MSc Luxury Management & Innovation?

Stéphanie Sire: "Today, luxury is no longer confined to the iconic luxury brands. New players are applying the codes to more accessible offerings. The demanding luxury process can be applied to all sectors. This is reflected in our courses and in our choice of lecturers."

Aurore Bardey: "Luxury is what dreams are made of! It's an art of living, a way of looking at what we create, what we make and what we consume. This approach must be holistic if it is to be perceived as authentic. Luxury is a savoir-faire and a savoir-vivre! I have to say that our location in Burgundy, a land of excellence, is a real plus. We benefit from our proximity to exceptional terroirs and highly talented artisans."

  • What, or who, are you most proud of?

Aurore Bardey: "Our students succeed in traditional luxury, in new luxury territories and even in an industry not really associated with luxury, such as the defense industry. I see this as proof that our focus on the demands of savoir-être and academic culture has paid off."

Stéphanie Sire: "We welcome 40 students for a year. They arrive with high expectations and are often surprised by some of our approaches. In the end, they leave with what they came for, but above all with a lot more. On a human level, in terms of knowledge and know-how."

  • What are your ambitions for the coming years?

Aurore Bardey and Stéphanie Sire: "The MSc Luxury Management & Innovation is three years old. We're still very young! The next step will undoubtedly be to develop the research dimension. Becoming a doctoral program will enable us to offer a different pathway to profiles wishing to deepen their knowledge."

  • The height of luxury?

Aurore Bardey: "From the consumer's point of view, it's the total experience! Feeling the quality of design and production without having to analyze."

Stéphanie Sire: "On the student side, I'd say: choice! Reaching a level where you can go in the direction you really want to go."
